FD and MFD Fire Dampers
When it comes to fire-resistant duct systems, FD and MFD fire dampers are indispensable components.
Today, HDG is pleased to share detailed information and test results for the two types of fire dampers manufactured by our team:
-
FD (Fire Damper): This type operates based on a thermal fuse mechanism. When the surrounding temperature rises (typically between 72°C and 74°C), the fuse melts, causing the damper to automatically close — preventing the spread of fire and smoke to adjacent areas.
- MFD (Motorized Fire Damper): This is an upgraded version of the FD damper, featuring an electric motor for precise control of opening and closing. With a more sophisticated structure, the MFD responds faster and can be integrated into programming systems, Building Management Systems (BMS), or other automation systems.
